  1. I don't work for Pimsleur, but I highly recommend Pimsleur for your language studies. The have a full level of Haitian Creole, and you can listen to the first lesson free online:

They're somewhat expensive, but I've used them and they're the best program I've encountered. You can save money buying them used from the usual places (ebay, amazon), and your local library may even carry them or be able to get them for you through inter-library loan.

Best wishes on your language studies and your time in Haiti!

  2. Hi! I read your dad's email, and I wanted to point you to a few blogs about Haiti that are amazing. Livesayhaiti.blogspot.com is a family working in port au prince running a maternity center. Also, allthingshendrick.blogspot.com is a family who recently returned to Texas from being in Haiti over a year. God bless you guys!

  3. Thank you for the language book recommendation! We had a hard time finding any Creole books, I will look into that company tonight!

Emily, thanks for the blog ideas! I actually found both of those blogs when I was researching our move to Haiti, I love them! They are really inspiring, I get the Livesayhaiti updates in my email. She writes so well about difficult issues like adoption. Thank you for taking the time to write on our blog, I am honored!
